NJP RPF recover 87 kg cannabis from two parcels booked from NJP for Punjab

Siliguri, 21st January: A new mode of smuggling illegal drugs was uncovered by NJP RPF on Friday. Reportedly, during a special checking, the team of NJP RPF searched two suspicious looking parcels in the commercial department. When the parcels were opened, 87 kilograms of cannabis was found inside the box. The market value of the seized article is estimated to be around Rs 8.70 lakh.


As per the information, the parcels were booked by a youth identified as Chandan Kumar from NJP for Bathinda in Punjab. The youth who booked the parcel is said to be a resident of Samastipur in Bihar. The NJP RPF has registered a case under the NDPS Act and handed over the seized cannabis to the GRP.
