Siliguri, 17th July: Based on a tip-off, the NJP police, on Thursday night, launched operations in Fulbari and detained a maize-laden truck. Upon searching the vehicle, the police seized 7 thousand bottles of illegal foreign liquor worth 20 lakh rupees.
Two men, identified as Mohammad Najib (driver) and Mohammad Sajeb (conductor) were arrested in the incident. They are reportedly residents of Uttar Pradesh.
According to police sources, the liquor was being transported from Arunachal Pradesh to Bihar. The arrested accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
