NJP police crack two separate temple robbery cases, two arrested

Siliguri, 03rd June: The NJP police has cracked the temple burglary case and arrested a youth arrested. The stolen gas cylinder and puja materials were also recovered from his possession.


It is to be noted that the burglary took place at Shiv Shakti Mandir in Kashmir Colony, Siliguri on June 02 and the temple committee had lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station. The police launched operations and arrested a youth named Ananda Mandal in connection to the incident.


On the other hand, another theft took place at the Radhagobindo temple in Bhaktinagar on May 29. Based on the investigation, the NJP police recovered several stolen bronze idols and puja materials on Wednesday night. The stolen items were hidden under the bridge of the Jorapani river. A youth, identified as MD Rustam was arrested in the incident.

Both the arrested individuals were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Thursday.
