Siliguri, 09th March: NJP police arrested a youth on charges of attempting rape on a 5-year-old girl. The incident took place in the Bakravita area under NJP police station. The arrested accused has been identified as Mojammel Hossain alias Raja.
Reportedly, a passer-by woman noticed Mojammel Hossain trying to molest the child on Tuesday evening and immediately informed the child’s family. Family members and locals rushed to the spot and nabbed Mojammel red-handed. Upon receiving the news, NJP Police reached the spot and arrested the accused.
The victim’s family demanded severe punishment for the accused. He was sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
