NJP Police arrest youth for assaulting ambulance driver who ferries COVID-19 patients

Siliguri, 28th November: NJP Police arrested a youth for allegedly assaulting an ambulance driver who ferries COVID-19 patients. The youth has been identified as Vivek Khawas. He was produced in Siliguri court today. 


As per the report, on Friday, the ambulance driver left from the hospital after dropping a COVID-19 patient. He stopped by Siliguri’s Noukaghat area to run some errands when he was suddenly attacked by the two drunk youths.

The incident was reported to the NJP Police. The police reached the spot soon and arrested Vivek Khawas. Police are searching for the other absconding youth.
