Siliguri, 23rd September: The NJP police launched operations and arrested two miscreants, on Wednesday. The arrested accused have been identified as Jagadish Roy and Guna Roy.
Incidentally, on the night of Vishwakarma Puja, some miscreants had gathered in Mahananda Bridge near Noukaghat. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the area and nabbed six miscreants. A firearm, cartridge, and several sharp weapons were recovered from their possession. However, some of them managed to escape the scene.
After questioning the arrested individuals, the police learned that they had gathered for the purpose of robbery. Following this, the police initiated a search and arrested the duo from the Fulbari Chunavati area on Wednesday. They were produced at the Jalpaiguri court on Thursday.
