Siliguri, 18th September: The NJP police arrested six miscreants with local firearms. The arrested accused have been identified as Manik Sarkar, Sourav Sarkar, Anand Sarkar, Prasenjit Das, Arjun Prasad, and Suraj Darjee.
It has been learned that several miscreants had gathered at the Mahananda Bridge near Noukaghat on Friday night. The police, acting on a tip-off, launched operations and arrested them. A local firearm, a cartridge, and several sharp weapons were recovered from their possession.
After questioning them, the police learned that they had gathered for the purpose of robbery in the Noukaghat area. They were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Saturday. The police have started searching for the rest.
