Siliguri, 29th May: The NJP Police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Fulbari Bazar area and arrested four miscreants along with local firearms and one cartridge. The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Barman from Mainaguri, Sourav Sarkar from Siliguri Ashok Nagar, Ramprasad, and Pritam Mandal from Shaktigarh. It has been learned that they were involved in various anti-social activities for a long time.
According to police sources, 8 to 10 miscreants gathered at the Fulbari Bazar area on Friday night with various sharp weapons and firearms for the purpose of robbery. The NJP Police successfully got hold of 4 miscreants. However, the rest of them managed to escape the scene. A cartridge and local firearms were seized from their possession.
The arrested individuals were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Saturday.
