NJP GRP arrested five Bangladeshi Rohingyas

Siliguri, 12th January: The NJP GRP arrested five Bangladeshi Rohingyas, on Tuesday. The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Mallick, Sofia Begum, Inayat Rahman, Mohammad Hasan, and Samsira Begum. They were travelling from Agartala to Delhi by train (Anandbihar Express).


According to railway police sources, the accused individuals fled away from the Katukfalang Rohingya camp in Bangladesh on January 10. They crossed the Indo-Bangladesh border and reached Agartala in Tripura and purchased train tickets online through fake identities. They then boarded a train from Agartala to Delhi on the night of January 11. They were planning to go to Jammu.

However, the NJP GRP launched operations and arrested them on Tuesday morning. The railway police have started an investigation into the incident.
