Siliguri, 25th November: The newly constructed road from Hans Bela Ashram in Ward No. 41 Haiderpara up to Tiranga More was inaugurated today. Reportedly, the road has been built on behalf of SJDA at a cost of 1 crore 1 lakh 39 thousand rupees.
During the inaugural programme, SJDA Chairman Vijay Chandra Barman said that the residents of the area had been demanding reconstruction of the road for a long time. However, no initiative was taken on behalf of SMC.
Considering the helpless situation of the people, Ward Co-ordinator Ravi Roy approached the SJDA who then stepped forward and took the initiative to rebuild the road.
