New bridge to be constructed over Mahananda river in Siliguri

Siliguri, 16th December: A new bridge is likely to be built in Siliguri with an aim to reduce traffic congestion.


Reportedly, the sixth bridge will be constructed over the Mahananda river which will be the shortest route from Bhanunagar to Baghajatin Colony. Besides, two new roads will also be constructed on both sides of the bridge. With the help of this bridge, people can easily travel from Sevoke Road to Hillcart Road in a very short time. On the other hand, people can easily reach Mahatma Gandhi more using the two new roads.

Recently, an organization named ‘Rights’ conducted a survey, the report of which was handed over to Siliguri Municipal Corporation and various departments at Ramkinkar Hall on Thursday. Officials of the governing body of SMC, irrigation department, police, and other departments were also present. The entire project which is worth around 150 crore rupees will include a bridge and two roads.
