Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary celebrated in Ward No. 24, BJP MP-MLAs pay tribute

Siliguri, 23rd January: The 125th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated in Ward No. 24 of Siliguri, on Sunday. Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, MLA Shikha Chatterjee and others were present on the occasion. The MP paid tribute to the freedom fighter by hoisting the national flag and garlanding the picture of Netaji.


Addressing the media, MP Bista stated that even after India became independent, Netaji did not get the respect that he deserved.


“Till now the Republic Day programme used to start from January 24, but this year the Prime Minister announced that Republic Day celebrations will begin a day early from January 23 to include the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Netaji’s statue has already been installed in Delhi to pay tribute to him,” Bista added.
