Naxalbari, 27th January: Under the initiative of Naxalbari Lions Club and with the assistance of Naxalbari Police, a free eye examination camp was organized at the premises of Naxalbari Police Station. Club members Narendra Prasad, Devprasad Bhowmik, Anil Saha, Kaushik Acharya, and Krishna Das were present.
A total of 100 people underwent eye examination and were given medicines at the camp. Several were referred for eye surgery and sent to Siliguri Lions Netralaya.
Kaushik Acharya, secretary of Naxalbari Lions Club, said that camps are being held once a month. Apart from the common people, the police personnel also got their eyes examined. Another eye check-up camp will be held on January 31 at Panitanki and again on February 24 at Naxalbari police station.
