Siliguri, October 17: On Tuesday, the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) Chairman Sourav Chakraborty visited the fire incident site at Naxalbari Bazar. The visit comes following the incident of fire that gutted several shops in the bazaar ahead of the Durga Puja.
Reportedly, after meeting the affected traders, the SJDA Chairman stated that the market has been developed without proper planning and no arrangements for the water system. He assured of developing the Naxalbari Bazar in the coming days and provide all possible cooperation. Furthermore, the Chairman also assured to discuss the entire matter with the District Magistrate (DM) and the administration.
Meanwhile, the businessmen demanded Naxalbari Bazar to be brought under the SJDA. In this regard, Chairman Sourav Chakraborty assured of having a discussion on the matter.
