Siliguri, 24th January: National Girl Child Day was observed in Siliguri under the initiative of North Bengal Adarsh Yoga Academy.
Awareness procession with small children was organized at Champasari more on Monday. The procession toured around different areas and raised awareness among the pedestrians on several issues.
Shiv Hazra, head of North Bengal Adarsh Yoga Academy and a prominent social activist, said, “On National Girl Child Day, we are raising awareness by protesting against female feticide and atrocities against women.”
