Naxalbari, 11th September: National Forest Martyrs’ Day was observed at the Tukriajhar Range Office premises in Naxalbari of Kurseong Division.
Kurseong Division ADFO Chinmoy Barman, Tukriajhar Ranger TT Bhutia, and other forest workers were present at the programme.
A meeting was organized in memory of the martyred forest workers. A minute of silence was observed to pay homage to the martyrs.
ADFO Chinmoy Barman said that Forest Martyrs’ Day is being observed in different ranges of Kurseong Division as per the instructions of the Forest Minister. 45 forest workers have lost their lives across the state till 2015. A total of four forest workers lost their lives in Kurseong Division.
