Siliguri 16th May: The mysterious death of a forest worker created a stir in the entire area. The deceased has been identified as Shambhu Paul resident of Dabgram. He was working in the forest department’s office at Sarugara and used to stay in the quarters by himself.
According to the family of the deceased, Shambu was supposed to come home on Sunday but was unable to do so as two sons of a forest department officer came to stay with him for the night.
The following morning Paul’s wife received a call from a forest employee informing her that Shambu’s health condition had deteriorated leading to his death in the hospital.
After receiving the news the family of the deceased reached Sarugara. They alleged that they were kept unaware of Shambu’s health and questioned his sudden demise. They protested by besieging the forest department officials.
