Siliguri, 20th December: The mystery regarding the suspicious round object found in the IOC area under NJP police station still remains intact. Eventually, the object was defused by the CID Bomb Squad team on the banks of the Noukaghat river.
It is to be noted that on December 19, an atmosphere of tension was witnessed after a suspicious round object was spotted in the IOC Road area under NJP police station.
In this regard, Commissioner Gaurav Sharma said that the object has been deactivated by the CID Bomb Squad team. The team has also collected some samples of the material for investigation purposes. He further said that they are waiting for the report of the CID Bomb Squad for further investigation. Police will take appropriate steps as soon as the report arrives.
