The Kiriteshwari village of Murshidabad district of West Bengal was awarded the best tourism village of India, by the Central Government. The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee announced the news through X handle (formerly twitter).
According to reports, the village beats 795 applications from 31 states and union territories to get the title.
