Mukul Roy joining TMC is his personal choice, says MP Raju Bista

Hours after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national Vice President Mukul Roy returned to the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Darjeeling MP Raju Bista released a video clip addressing the issue.

“Mukul Roy is a senior and a seasoned politician, and his joining TMC is reflective of his personal choice,” Bista stated.

Asserting that in a democracy, people are free to choose, Bista took a jibe at the state’s ruling party saying that “freedom to choose” does not exist in West Bengal. He further claimed that freedom is denied to “everyone who is not from TMC or cater to their ideology of cut-money, corruption, murder and mayhem.”

” If anyone quits TMC and joins some other party they are attacked with guns and bullets, their families are raped and murdered, they are threatened every day using TMC goons and police,” Bista further added.

The MP maintained that the BJP is making space for democracy to foster again in Bengal and that they want an end to the violence from politics in West Bengal.

“Our duty is to serve the people of our nation and our state to the best of our abilities, and we will continue to do so…BJP has grown stronger in the grassroots level in West Bengal and this momentum will continue unabated,” he added.
