Siliguri, 25th July: A motorcycle rider died in a tragic road accident under Bhakti Nagar Police Station area of Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Raju Chhetri.
According to reports, the accident occurred near the IG Office area when Raju Chhetri was allegedly trying to overtake a truck from the left side. He was riding a motorcycle bearing a Kalimpong registration number.
Following the accident, panic spread in the area. Police from Bhakti Nagar Police Station and traffic officials reached the spot and seized the truck and the motorcycle.
The truck driver was taken into custody and is being questioned in connection with the incident.
The body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination. Police have started an investigation into the matter.
