Monthly session of Siliguri Municipal Corporation ends; board to take strict action against illegal constructions

Siliguri, 30th June: The monthly session of Siliguri Municipal Corporation was held on Thursday in the presence of Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar. During the session, the opposition councilors took a jibe at the ruling party over the inundation of several parts of the city following torrential rainfall. They also raised their voice against illegal constructions in Siliguri.


In response to this, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar said that the new board has only completed six months of tenure. Nonetheless, it has executed numerous works over this period. The process of cleaning the rivers and streams flowing over the city has started to tackle the waterlogging situation. Further speaking on illegal construction, Sarkar said that the corporation will not tolerate illegal construction in any way.
