Missing person’s body recovered from Mahananda river near Porajhar

Siliguri, 16th May: Sensation prevailed after the body of a missing person was recovered from the Mahananda river near Porajhar. The deceased has been identified as Anil Roy, a resident of Ward no-32 Jyotirmoy Colony.


According to the family sources of the deceased, Anil Roy went to the Porajhar area for agricultural work on Saturday. However, when he did not return home by evening, the family members started searching for him. They were startled to find Roy’s clothes and bicycle lying next to the farmland. However, no trace of him was found at that moment.

Following this, his dead body was recovered from the Mahananda river on Sunday afternoon. However, there is uncertainty about his sudden death. NJP police have started an investigation into the whole incident.


Meanwhile, Trinamool leader Yanur Haque Munshi reached the house of the deceased after learning about the matter today. He expressed his condolences to the family members and demanded an investigation into the incident.
