Miscreants set a factory on fire after looting in Balaram Powergrid area of ​​Rajganj

Rajganj, 30th December: Sensation prevailed after a factory was set on fire by a group of miscreants after looting the place. The incident surfaced from the Balaram Powergrid area of ​​Rajganj.


Reportedly, late Wednesday night, an operator spotted a car inside the factory. After some time, the factory office caught fire. When the operator set out to inform the locals about the matter, the miscreants managed to escape. The operator immediately informed about the arson to the Fulbari fire department. 


Upon receiving the news, a fire engine reached the factory and doused the fire. The police of Ambari Outpost also reached the spot. During the investigation, the police managed to detain a youth in connection with the incident.

According to the operator of the factory, copper wires, terminals and Rs 3.5 lakh cash were stolen from the factory. The total loss is estimated to be around Rs 25 lakh. The miscreants also burnt some important documents of the factory.

Surjit Pal, general secretary of the North Bengal Industrial Association, highly condemned the incident and said that such an event would make it difficult to set up new industries in the area. He demanded the police to take immediate action against the culprits.
