Minor saved from hands of traffickers in Siliguri, four arrested

Siliguri, 03rd June: Within 72 hours of reporting, the NJP Police of Siliguri Metropolitan Police rescued the missing minor from Khalpara area of ​​Siliguri. 
The victim girl’s family filed a missing report on May 31 at the NJP Police Station. An investigation was launched and the Khalpara Out Post police, on June 02, notified that the minor was spotted in the Khalpara area with a woman. Acting promptly, the investigating team reached Khalpara and apprehended the said woman, later identified as Mona Haldar of Kolabusty under Matigara Police Station area.
On the basis of the information gathered from the woman, three more people were taken into custody. Reportedly, Manoj Sahani of Maharaj colony under Siliguri  Police Station area was detained from Kholai Baktari in Matigara. After questioning him, Lalu Yadav of Kholai Baktari was nabbed from Tulsinagar area in Matigara. The police then detained Chandan Sahani of Maharaj colony in Ward No. 04. The police have registered a case of kidnapping against the accused. Police suspect that the gang might have drugged the minor and trafficked her. Today all the accused were produced in the court. 
It is to be noted, the minor girl had come to Siliguri from Maynaguri to visit her uncle. She was apparently home alone that day, so her cousins locked the main door from outside. Bored and with nothing she crossed over the fence and went out. No traces of her could be found after that. After Siliguri Times reported the matter on Thursday, the news was brought to the limelight. The cops of various police stations conducted a search operation for the minor and successfully located her.
