Cooch Behar, 16th May: In a despairing incident, a minor girl lost her life after getting drowned in Torsha River in an area near Karishal Huzur Saheb Mazar at Cooch Behar. The deceased has been identified as Sohana Parveen.
According to sources, Sohana had come to her maternal uncle’s place following which she, along with her mother had gone to the Torsha River to take a bath. Subsequently, in the process of taking a bath, unable to withstand the strong river current she got swept away by the water. Later, the locals recovered her and took her to Cooch Behar MJN Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
