Minor drowned while bathing in Fulbari Mahananda barrage, body recovered

Fulbari, 06th June: The body of 16-year-old, Sudeep Pal, has been recovered from Mahananda barrage Fulbari today. On Tuesday morning, a joint team of the Disaster Management Group (DMG) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) recovered the body of the deceased.


Notably, on Monday afternoon, 6 friends from the Palpara area of Rangapani under Phansidewa Police Station went to bathe in the Fulbari Mahananda barrage, during which, the minor drowned.

Later, upon receiving the information the team of Phansidewa Police, along with DMG and NDRF reached the spot and initiated a rescue operation. However, until yesterday evening, the minor could not be traced.


Meanwhile, this morning as the rescue operation resumed, the body of the minor has been recovered.

Subsequently, the deceased’s body was sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, while, Phansidewa police started further investigation into the entire incident.
