Siliguri, 10th August: As per the recent announcement, the Darjeeling Mail will run from Haldibari on Independence Day. In protest against this, the Siliguri Bidhan Market Vyavasaayee Samiti submitted a memorandum to the railway official, on Wednesday.
“Darjeeling Mail is the pride of Siliguri. But the train is now being diverted from Siliguri to Haldibari. This will cause a huge loss to the people and businesspeople of Siliguri,” Joint Secretary of the committee, Raju Dey stated. He urged the concerned officials to arrange an alternate train from Haldibari and continue the service of Darjeeling Mail from NJP.
