Siliguri, 31st May: Resentment could be seen for several days among the businesspeople of Seth Srilal Market regarding various issues, following which, today, they approached Goutam Deb, Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). According to sources the Mayor took action immediately with regard to their grievances.
Reportedly, the businessmen alleged that illegal construction is being undertaken in the said market following which they approached the SMC. In this regard, much to the relief of the businessmen, Mayor Goutam Deb spoke to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, and further instructed him for stopping the illegal construction by issuing a notice.
Additionally, today, the members of Seth Srilal Market Byabasayee Samiti submitted a memorandum to the Mayor regarding various issues including, illegal parking by encroaching road and drainage spaces.
Speaking in this regard, Khokan Bhattacharya, Secretary of the Siliguri Seth Srilal Market Byabasayee Samiti, said that they are happy that the Mayor resolved their problems. On the other hand, Mayor Goutam Deb also stated that the grievances of the businessmen of Seth Srilal Market have been taken care of by the SMC.
