Kharibari, 02nd April: Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb laid the foundation stone of the Block Primary Health Unit building at Kharibari today. The new building of Kharibari Rural Hospital will be constructed at a cost of about one crore rupees.
On the occasion, Darjeeling District Chief Health Officer Dr. Tulsi Pramanik, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Kharibari Block Health Officer and others were present.
In this regard, the Mayor maintained that the work will start in next three to four days. About Rs 1 crore has been allocated for this new two-storey building where a lab will be constructed for blood tests.
“The state government has taken this step to improve health services in rural areas after the urban areas. This will benefit the people living in remote areas,” Deb added.
