Matigara police arrest one for cheating people on the pretext of providing them jobs

Siliguri, 09th October: The Medical outpost police of Matigara police station arrested a person for extorting money from people on the pretext of providing jobs. The arrested accused has been identified as Sourav Chakraborty of Deshbandhu Para, Siliguri.


According to the information, Sourav used to extort money from unemployed youths on the pretext of providing them government and private jobs. A youth named Debjyoti Roy lodged a written complaint at the Medical Outpost on Friday alleging fraud againt the accused. He alleged that Sourav Chakraborty had swindled Rs 7.5 lakh from him to obtain a license for working in the power department. Based on this complaint, the Medical Outpost police arrested the accused person today.

The arrested has been booked under IPC 406,419,465,467,471,420,120 B and produced in Siliguri court. After which the court directed seven days police custody.
