Matigara police and DD arrest one for making fake COVID reports in Siliguri

Siliguri, 18th June: The Matigara police and Detective Department, on Thursday night, arrested Indrajit Kumar from Shiv Mandir on the charge of preparing fake COVID reports. Several laboratory papers were seized from his possession. It is to recall that the Siliguri police arrested a youth, a few days ago, on a similar charge.


Police learned that Indrajit used to collect COVID-19 samples from people’s doorstep and then he prepared false reports. The arrested accused was produced at the Siliguri court on Friday and taken into police custody for 5 days.

It has been learned that Indrajit owned a pharmacy store and diagnostic center in Ghogomali Chayanpara Main Road, which has remained closed for several months.


Recently, doctors of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital held discussions with the Police Commissioner to take action against illegal laboratories.
