Markets to be closed once a week for sanitation work in Siliguri

Siliguri, 24th July: Due to growing crowds in markets, the District Magistrate had earlier informed that markets will be closed once a week during which sanitation work will be carried out. After the meeting of the market committees with Siliguri Municipal Corporation, decisions were taken regarding the days when markets will remain closed.


Mentioned below are the days when markets will remain closed:

Monday – Town Station Bazar (Bagrakote), Champasari More, Champasari SJDA Market, Nivedita Road Vegetable Market, Jhangkar More Vegetable Market, Subhash Palli, Rabindra Nagar and Rathkhola Bazar.


Tuesday – DI Fund Puratan Bazar, DI Fund Shivaji Market (Vegetables), Jalpai More and NJP Station Market.

Thursday – Haiderpara Bazar, Ghogomali Bazar, Gurung Basti Bazar, DI Fund market (Kalahati), DI Fund Market (Murihati and Chalhati), N.J.P. Gate bazaar and vegetable market.

Friday- Mahabirsthan Bazar and Tikiapara Bazar

Saturday- Shanti Nagar Bow Bazar
