Man’s body found hanging from the noose in Siliguri, suicide note recovered

Siliguri, 18th February: A tragic incident came to the fore where the lifeless body of a man was found in a house near the Y.M.A Club in Siliguri Municipal Corporation Ward No. 27. The deceased has been identified as Anurag Sarkar (35). Significantly, a suicide note was recovered from the house.


The deceased’s family reported that Anurag has been suffering from depression ever since his father had passed away in 2021. Initially, he worked for a private corporation in Bangalore. Following his father’s death, he returned to Siliguri to live with his mother and elder brother.

Reportedly, Anurag had fallen asleep after his supper on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, when he did not answer the door, the family broke in and discovered Anurag’s body hanging from the noose.


Upon receiving the news, Siliguri police arrived at the spot, recovered the deceased body, and transported it for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, a suicide note was found at the deceased’s home, where he wrote two lines of a lyrical, mentioning his love for everyone and that his decision to commit suicide was not influenced by anyone. The sudden demise of Anurag left his family distraught.
