Siliguri, 08th January: A man sat on a dharna outside the house of his in-laws demanding that they let his wife return to his house. The incident surfaced on Saturday from the area adjacent to Bhalobasha More under NJP police station.
According to Manoj Mandal, a resident of Debidanga, he married his lover from Bhalobasha More after having an affair for 7 years. He claimed that they tied the knot just a month ago in a temple. However, his in-laws took his wife back home and are not letting her return.
On the other hand, the family members of the woman and the locals alleged that Manoj married the girl forcefully and denied accepting their marriage under any circumstances. Shockingly, the alleged lover also seconds her family’s claims.
Meanwhile, NJP police reached the spot after receiving the news. After taking the girl’s statement, the youth was taken to the police station for questioning. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
