Man out on bail arrested again for alleged theft in Siliguri

Siliguri, 22nd September: In a peculiar turn of events, a criminal who was released on bail five days prior, has been re-arrested by the Matigara police on charges of alleged theft and extortion. The arrested accused has been identified as MD Afzal.


It has to be noted that, the accused was previously on 14 days judicial custody on the charge of robbery, allegedly committed 20 days ago. Following this, about 5 days ago, he was released on bail.

As per reports, Afzal allegedly engaged in theft again at a residence in the New Colony area of Matigara last Wednesday. After the incident, a written complaint was filed at the police station. Meanwhile, the cops of Matigara police station initiated an investigation and arrested MD Afzal, on Thursday night, on charges of theft.


Following the subsequent interrogation, police recovered stolen gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees. On Friday, the accused was presented before the Siliguri Court.
