Siliguri, 14th September: A distressing incident unfolded in the Jamurivita area of Fulbari I Anchal, where a man identified as Raju Sarkar committed suicide after being allegedly humiliated by his wife’s family.
According to local sources, Raju and his wife Panchami were married about nine years ago and have an eight year old daughter. A few days ago, due to a family dispute, Panchami went to her maternal home along with her daughter. On Wednesday afternoon, Raju went to meet his wife and daughter, during which, he was allegedly assaulted and humiliated by his in-laws. Following this, he returned home and killed himself by hanging from the noose.
After the incident, the cops of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station arrived at the spot, took possession of the deceased’s body, and transported it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. Simultaneously, Raju Sarkar’s family filed a formal complaint at the police station against his wife Panchami, and her family. Currently, police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
