Cooch Behar, 10th March: In a horrifying mishap, an individual lost his life after being hit by a train in Khaterbari area under Hazrahat-II Gram Panchayat of Mathabhanga Block-1 of Cooch Behar district. The deceased individual has been identified as Balram Barman.
Local sources revealed that the incident occurred as Balram was inebriated when he walked in front of the train. Upon receiving the news, Mathabhanga police arrived at the spot recovered the deceased body, and transported it to Mathbhanga mortuary for post-mortem examination.
The police are engaged in further investigation while the incident has led to a state of mourning in the entire Barman family.
