Siliguri, 07th January: The Siliguri Women police station has arrested a youth on charges of deceiving a woman into a romantic relationship and sexually assaulting her. The accused has been identified as Ram Prasad Mallik (22), a resident of Dhupguri.
As per details gathered, the young man allegedly lured a 24-year-old woman from Siliguri into his trap, which ultimately ended her marital life. Reportedly, the victim was taken to a hotel in Siliguri and subjected to sexual assault. Subsequently, on Saturday, the victim lodged a written complaint at the police station.
Following this, the police arrested the accused criminal from near Gandhi Maidan based on the complaint. On Sunday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri court. Meanwhile, the police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
