Naxalbari, 08th August: A man has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor in the Shanti Nagar area of Naxalbari. The accused has been identified as Naren Roy (55), a local resident of the aforementioned area.
As stated by the victim’s family, the accused sexually assaulted the minor multiple times by luring the victim in various ways. As soon as the incident came to light, the family members registered a formal complaint with the Naxalbari police station and the accused was subsequently arrested.
On Tuesday, the accused was hauled before the Siliguri sub-divisional court. At present, the minor is reported to be under the shelter of her family. Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
