Siliguri, 18th December: The police of the Ashighar Out Post have arrested the man within 24 hours of the ghastly crime.
It is to be noted that, the accused identified as Gopal Das raped an 18-month-old stray dog on December 13 after taking advantage of the absence of anyone in the house in East Fakadaibari. After the incident came to the fore, the locals with the help of Siliguri Animal Helpline organization Priya Rudra lodged a written complaint against the accused at Ashighar Out Post on Friday night regarding this shameful incident.
After this, Ashighar Out Post police started investigating the accused and nabbed the accused within 24 hours. Police are probing the entire matter. The accused was presented in Jalpaiguri court today.
