Siliguri, 07th November: Sensation prevailed after the locals of the Anandamai Colony area, located in Champasari, caught a person sexually assaulting a 6-year-old minor child, late Saturday evening. The accused has been identified as Hiralal Shah. Later, the locals handed him over to the Pradhan Nagar police station.
According to the information, after being caught in the heinous act, the accused Hiralal Shah was tied up and beaten up fiercely by the locals. After which, the police of Pradhan Nagar police station was informed regarding the matter. On receiving the news, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the minor’s family, a case has been registered against the accused in the police station. The police further registered a case under the POCSO Act and presented the accused in the Siliguri court today.
