Siliguri, 27th August: A person has been arrested for attempting rape on a 13-year old girl. The incident surfaced from the Changrabandha area of Fulbari-2 region.
As per the report, the girl was on her way to her friend’s house on Thursday evening, when the accused, identified as Govinda Roy, confronted her and forced himself on her. When the girl cried out for help, the man fled away.
After the incident, the victim informed the matter to her family members. The family then lodged a complaint against the accused at the NJP police station. Police arrested the accused on Thursday night on the basis of the allegations. He was sent to Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
