West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has demanded a financial package from the central government to bail out the states from the economic crisis created by the lockdown. The matter was brought out during a video conferencing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Ministers of several states. Banerjee also recommended increasing the lockdown period.
