Malda, 17th July: In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, a lockdown has been imposed in both the municipality areas of English Bazar and Old Malda as a containment measure. The lockdown came into effect from Friday morning.
In this regard, strict surveillance is being kept by the police and civic volunteers in all major areas of the city since this morning. All markets and shops, excluding medicine shops, have been ordered to restrict operations.
