Major fire break-out in Islampur kills two, 13 injured

Islampur, 30th October: Two people lost their lives in a major fire break-out which occurred during the Biswa Nabi Diwas rally, on Friday morning. The incident surfaced from the Shiyaltole area under Islampur police station. The deceased have been identified as Anjali Khatun (10) and Mohammad Rajab (11). 13 more have been injured in the incident.


Reportedly, the injured individuals were rushed to Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital. Five of them have been shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital due to their critical condition.

Upon receiving the news, State Labor Minister Golam Rabbani, Islampur MLA Abdul Karim Chowdhury, Islampur Block Trinamool Congress president Zakir Hossain, and many others rushed to Islampur Sub-Divisional Hospital.


Minister Golam Rabbani said that instructions have been issued to investigate the incident. Besides, the minister also interacted with the doctors regarding proper treatment.
