Lord Jagannath ‘Snan Yatra’ observed at ‘Chanda household’ in Ambari; traditional Rath Yatra enters 80th year

Rajganj, 29th June: The sacred ‘Snan Yatra’ of Lord Jagannath was observed with religious devotion and traditional rituals at the ‘Chanda household’ in Ambari under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj block on Monday. The family’s traditional Rath Yatra is set to enter its 80th year this year.

Members of the Chanda family carried out the ceremonial bathing of the deity along with puja rituals, offering of bhog, and distribution of prasad in a devotional atmosphere.

According to the family, the Rath Yatra tradition began nearly 80 years ago. Maintaining this legacy, the ‘Chanda household’ has been organising both ‘Snan Yatra’ and ‘Rath Yatra’ every year. This year marks the 80th year of their historic Rath Yatra tradition.

The religious ceremonies began in the morning with priest-led chanting of mantras, during which the ‘Snan Yatra’ of Lord Jagannath was performed. After the rituals, bhog was offered and prasad distributed among devotees.
