Siliguri, 22nd December: The residents of Siliguri Panchanan Colony caught a youth red-handed duping people under the Ujjwala Yojana scheme. The arrested youth has been identified as Rohit Shah. Around 500 forms were recovered from his possession.
It has been learned that the youth had been collecting Rs. 200 as well as identity documents from the residents of Panchanan Colony on the pretext of providing them gas cylinders free of cost under the Ujjwala Yojana scheme. The form even had the gas agency name mentioned on it.
On suspicion, some locals contacted the said gas agency on Wednesday and learned that it was a fake ring and that the youth was not an employee of the gas agency. They detained him and later handed him over to the Pradhan Nagar police.
