Letter sent to State Chief Minister regarding naming the new tiger cubs of Bengal Safari Park

Siliguri, 29th August: Sheela, the Royal Bengal Tiger of Siliguri Bengal Safari Park gave birth to three healthy cubs, a few weeks ago. The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb sent a letter to the Chief Minister to name them.


Earlier too, the Chief Minister had named three tiger cubs of Bengal Safari. Later a cub died. At present, Kika and Rika are spending good days in Bengal safari. Ever since the arrival of the new cubs a few weeks ago, an atmosphere of happiness is being experienced in Siliguri’s Bengal safari. They are currently under strict surveillance. However, only a few are allowed to go near the cubs.

On Saturday, Minister Goutam Deb stated that the CM has been informed regarding naming the three cubs. He further stated that a Karmatirtha will be set up in Bengal Safari, where women from self-help groups can sell handmade items.


The minister also said that there are plans to bring giraffes and nocturnal birds in the park later. In the last few months, several deers have taken birth in Bengal Safari, due to which some of them will be sent to different forests of North Bengal.
