Kharibari, 22nd April: After the footprints of a leopard were spotted on Wednesday at the Nayahat area of Binnabari Gram Panchayat under Kharibari block, the locals are under the grip of leopard terror.
A local farmer Ananda Sarkar stated that he sighted a leopard and 2 cubs in his farmland and also spotted a few footprints. The people of the area have been terrorized since the incident.
A youth named Manotosh Barman then reported the matter to the BJP Yuva President Kanchan Debnath, who further reported it to the Kharibari police station.
Upon receiving the news, the Forest Department officials reached the spot and are said to plant a cage tonight to trap the wild animal.
